Here is the report from Knorhoek themselves as well as some pics of the day:

And so all good things come to an end.?? The 4th edition of the Knorhoek Bass Classic will be remembered for great atmosphere, wonderful company and cold weather, unfortunately not for big bass ??? but a lot of them ??? 60 in total ??? a record set for a competition day at Knorhoek.

61 anglers participated.?? The first of them, David-Thys Louw, was already there at 5am to launch his big bass boat with trolling motor. By 6am more than 80% of the anglers had already registered, signed the indemnity form and were ready to fish.?? The whistle went exactly at 6am and the competition was under way… but nobody could have predicted what followed.?? A cold wind swept through the valley which kept on going till 11:15am.?? A huge cloud of fog kept the sun away. Certainly not the weather we had ordered or predicted.?? However, even though the weather was not ideal ??? Nicolaas van As weighed in 15 bass in the first half an hour and went on to win the “Most Fish” category by catching 21 of the 60 bass weighed in on the day.

For a long time Scholtz de Villiers was the front runner for Biggest Bass caught, having a bass of 945g in his live well.?? This however changed at about 10:30am when first Ian Scibbe caught a 1.315kg bass from his Froggy V-Craft float tube, on the only spot where the sun was shining.?? We all thought he was in the money, but at 11:30am, 30 minutes before final whistle, in came the man of the hour – Vaughn Harris!?? He caught the winning fish of 1.365kg’s, 50g heavier than Ian’s to win the grand prize of the day, a Froggy Float Tube sponsored by Floattubes.co.za and a voucher for any wine of his choice for a total value of R1000-00 at the Knorhoek Wine Farm Tasting Room.?? Congratulations Vaughn, you kept going right till the end and were rewarded for your perseverance.
